Star Trek’s new Kirk Chris Pine is spending his summer on the Los Angeles stage, appearing in the dark satire The Lieutenant of Inishmore. Pine has got high marks playing a tough Northern Irish terrorist who has returned home to take care of his cat. The Center Theater Group has posted video from the opening gala which includes clips of the play and comments from Pine. Check it out below. 


Karl Urban Ready For Star Trek “Einsteins” To Take It “Further” In Sequel

Of all the new Star Trek crew members, Karl Urban is probably the biggest Trekkie and at brief Comic Con interview he says that he doesn’t know what is next for his Dr. McCoy in the sequel set to shoot a year from now, but he has faith in the geniuses behind the movie to take it further. Zachary Quinto “Can’t Wait” For Star Trek Sequel & Open To New Director + Photos & Video

Zachary Quinto (complete with his new buzz cut) is another Star Trek actor at Comic Con this year – promoting his new comic books. Bruce Greenwood ‘Hustling’ For Star Trek Sequel + Starts Production Rumor (Sequel Still Starting Spring/Summer 2011)

Bruce Greenwood won high praise for his portrayal of Capt. Christopher Pike in the 2009 Star Trek movie. As he is not part of the main crew of the Enterprise, it isn’t certain that he will be back. But in a couple of new interviews the actor said he doing what he can to return to the final frontier. He also started another production start rumor.

Star Trek’s new Captain Kirk, Chris Pine is spending this summer appearing on stage in Los Angeles in the dark satire "The Lieutenant of Inishmore", which has a gala opening this weekend. In a new interview promoting the play, Pine talks about how he has been blessed by Star Trek. We also have new images of Pine from the play. Last summer they were tearing up the screen as the new Kirk and Spock in Star Trek. This summer Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto are on different coasts working in very different projects. This week Pine begins his LA stage performance of the satire The Lieutenant of Inishmore, while Quinto is NYC started shooting the financial crisis drama Margin Call. Saldana, Orci, Kurtzman & More Star Trek Crew Invited To Join Motion Picture Academy

Earlier this year the 2009 Star Trek movie became the first in the franchise to win an Academy Award. And now seven of the people who worked on the film have been invited to join the ranks of those who vote on the Oscars. Today the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced their 2010 invitees and on the list were seven members of the Star Trek team, including Zoe Saldana, Roberto Orci, and Alex Kurtzman.
